Despite the weakening of the cyclonic storm Yagi that arose from the north-east Bay of Bengal, the effect of the low pressure area developed from its remnants led to heavy rains and strong winds in the southern and eastern regions of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The effect of this newly developed weather system was felt up to the Vindhya region.

Good rain was witnessed in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Banda etc. on Tuesday. Amidst the changed weather, winds blew at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in the southern and eastern areas of the state. There is a possibility of good rain in Bundelkhand and Agra region on Wednesday as well.

Talking about the capital, the winds blew at a speed of 20 to 30 km per hour since late Monday night. On Tuesday, the weather was pleasant due to strong winds, sunshine and shade during the day as well as intermittent drizzle. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of intermittent drizzle in Lucknow from Tuesday evening to Wednesday.

According to senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, the remnants of cyclonic storm Yagi are expected to move rapidly towards the northwest after becoming active in Jharkhand, due to which there are chances of good rain in some states including Delhi, Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday as well.

The weather department has predicted good rainfall in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and Wednesday in the southern areas adjoining Madhya Pradesh, Sonbhadra, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur, Prayagraj etc. along with Bundelkhand and Agra region.
